dont love me because im pretty,
and dont love me because im smart.
love me for my imperfections,
and my torn up heart.
dont hug me when im happy,
and dont kiss me on sunny days.
hold me close when the tears fall,
and kiss me in the rain.
dont pretend you dont know me,
when you are hanging with your friends.
i would prefer that you showed me off,
and do your best at making them jealous.
dont hide your affections,
and dont act so behaved.
i would love to hold your hand in public,
and just do crazy things.
and especially dont say you will love me,
and you will never leave my side.
i dont want to jinx this relationship,
and end
The stars have lost their lustre
the summer nights gone cold
her lover's kisses, flushed with want
no longer warm her soul.
She slept a season in his arms,
their hearts and limbs entwined,
and dreamed upon his promises
and drank the wedding wine.
